MEMO TO: Members of Council August 25th, 1976 4G 9} {UPR FROM: Mayor J.M. Campbell Re: Regional District Meeting ~ August 25th, 1976 Fluoridation has again reared its head. It started with a statement “by the Health Officer, Mr. Bonham, in Vancouver and the Vancouver Council passed it to the Regional District. Today we agreed to have the G.V.R.D. put together all the information pro and con on the issue and to hold Public Meetings so that everyone can have their say. It is my personal: opinion that it should be everybody's personal choice if it goes to plebiscite. I believé the District and the Councils should present information and the citizens should make their own decisions. I presume that if a plebiscite is held it will be held at this year's election so therefore Public Meetings will have to start within the next month and a half and also there must be a decision made as to whether we should go to plebiscite or not. I will keep you informed, but I think we all should be prepared to be bombarded by literature from both sides.
