Aiderman Mabbett commented on the number of tow trucks belonging to Ridge Towing apparently being dispatched from a residence on Pitt River Road at Mary Hill and requested that the situation be further investigated. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the matter of Ridge Towing trucks being dispatched from a residence on Pitt River Road be reviewed by the Administrator. Alderman Laking advised that he had been approached by Nu-West Development Corporation with respect to obtaining permission to service Phase IV of their subdivision at the same time as they are servicing Phase III and following a brief discussion, it was generally agreed that Nu-West should make an official request to Council. Alderman Ranger expressed concern over the safety of the Huntington Rubber site since the recent fire and suggested that an order for demolition under Section 715 of the Municipal Act should be considered. A brief discussion ensued and the City Administrator advised that the Fire Chief was taking the necessary action under tne provisions of the Fire Marshals Act and that the situtation would continue to be monitored to ensure no additional hazards were created.
