MONTREAL (CP) — There will be no changes in Mentreal Alouettes’ lineup for the Grey Cup game Sunday from that which produced a 21-16 victory over Otlawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League's Eastern Conference finai. A spokesman for. the defending Cup champions said Monday the Alouettes came out of the EFC title game last Sunday in Ottawa in fine shape. The Alouettes suffered a string of injuries to their quarterbacks this season, a factor which contributed to their 8-7-1] regular-season record that was good for second place in the East behind Ottawa. But, with Joe Barnes and Sonny Wade healthy now, Montreal is solid «behind _centre. Barnes went the distance against the Rough ziders, completing nine of 13 pass attempts for 144 yards. Wade was scheduled lo come into the game during the third quarter, but head coach Joe Scannella sald Wade came to him and suggested Barnes was doing well enaugh to stay in. “Barnes was working on what was to be his last series when he led that drive that produced Don Sweet's second field goal," Scannella said. ‘Sonny was supposed to go in after thal, but he came to me and said to stay with Joe because he seemed to have things going well.” Barnes scored Montreal’s two touchdowns in the game, and Seannella said Barnes had the green light to run. “With that brace on nis knee, 1 didn’t think he could run as much as he did,” Seannella said. “It bothered me a bit when I ran, but I got used to it,’ Barnes said of the brace. “The second touchdown was the best. | was waiting for that draw play. EDMONTON (CL) — Next Sunday's Grey Cup game in Toronto could be Tom Wilkinson's last hurrah, -and there is no doubt he would dearly love to quarterback Edmonton Eskimos to victory over Montreal Alouettes. The word from team- mates is that Wilkinson, 35, Grey is thinking af retirement. A fitting way to wrap up 10 Canadian Football League campaigns would be by beating the Alouettes, who humiliated the Eskimos 41-6 in last year's Grey Cup clash. But Wilkinson says the Es- kimes must contain their desire for retribution. “We would like ta go back and make up for last year. But if we put too much emphasis on wanting to beat Montreal we might get loo high. a Wilkinson worked hard in preparing for the 1978 CFL season, fosing 20 pounds through diligent workouts that put him in the best shape he’s heen in for a half _ ilozen years.
