Robert Robertson, Chainnan of the 10th Port Coquitlam Boy Scouts Croup has approached the Leisure Activities Committee reqarding the possibility of havina Land space and funding allocated kor the scout house on Many Hill, It is Loht that a scout house 458 a much needed facility in Port Coquitlam which could be used by ale groups such as Girl Guides ete. The Boy Scouts presently meet in the schools, however space 44 somavhat Limited due to other groups in the community also using School space. The area requested for a possible site is onr chose to Eastern Drive park. Recommendation: The Leisure Activities Committee recommends that the city provide the Land for the Scout house, A possible area that the committee Looked at was the 10 acne parcel bounded by Cameron and Taylor Streets. However, the committee recommends that the funding for the scout house be Left in the hands of the Seout people and that the city does not become involved. ITEM II - LACROSSE RATES ~- p£ease see attached. The committee has discussed the increasing of Lacrosse nates fon this season and necommends the following: 1977 proposed Minot: Lacnosse & Intermediate Lacrosse (Games & Practice) $4.30 per hr. Junton "B" (Games & Practice) 5.00 per hr. Junior "A" (Gaines & Practice) 5.75 per hr. Senior "B" & "C" (Practice) 7.75 por hr. (Game) 31.00 per hr. ITEM ITI - ROAD HOCKEY SURFACE - Letter circulated earlier to council members ftom Many Hi22 Ratepayers Association The Committee has discussed the possibibity of providing "black top" areas throuahout the city for children to play hockeu, roller shate, skate board ete. One anea that was Looked at for a possible "bLack top" area was at Eastean Drive Park. The Leisure Activities Committee would Like to discuss this item further with Council.
