REPORTS: ALand Sale Comm. From the Land Sale Committee, February 21st, 1975, referring to the e sale of City sale of City-owned property on Chester Street along with the sale of a Perth St. portion of Perth Street that was approved by Council in September of 1974 at a price of $70,000.00; however, the purchaser has been unable to get the consent of the adjacent owners for the closure of Perth and this has necessitated further discussions with the Committee regarding alternative lay-outs to provide a subdivision that would make most economical use of the land parcel. The Committee, in its report, advised that the subdivision has now been dealt with by the Planning & Zoning Committee and that the sale would involve the City-owned land on Chester plus a small strip of Perth Street 10 feet wide in order to permit the proposed subdivision lay-out. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued and Alderman Ranger pointed out that although the proposed subdivision would produce seven lots worth approximately $10,000.00 each, the costs of servicing on both sides of Chester Street and part of Salisbury Avenue would be quite expensive; therefore, the selling price of $48,500.00 does become a better deal. Alderman Ranger mentioned that his own feeling for development of the property would be building the same number of condominium units as the single-family dwellings proposed to be constructed; however, Alderman Laking advised this would have required closure of Perth Street and the developer was unable to obtain the necessary consents. Alderman Laking further advised that the developer feels he can put the homes on the market at approximately $44,000.00 to $45,000.00, and pointed out that condominiums are running at about that
