It began with Wyn Nutley "picking me up and heading over to Mary Alice Short’s home on Agar where we watched a few birds at her feeder and a few bathing in a puddle in her back - yard. Then Wyn, Mary Alice, Laurelle Lofroth and myself headed ot to cover the Keith -eStates area, During our four-hour foray, we spotted 11 species including varied thrushes, flickers, humerous crows, juncos, a ruby-crowned kinglet, Cooper's hawk, ravens, mergansers, black-caps and gulls. We also-had an unexpected sighting, an osprey. They are not unknown here, of course, but are usually.only seen during the warmer months. We watch- Bird spott ing fun — ‘ed it for about half an hour. Then it was off to Diane and: Art Weismiller's home for a lovely lunch including hot, mulled apple juice.
