University College. Depuis, Marie est en période de transition professionelle: le travail en ate-
lier, l’exposition, les contrats artistiques, l’enseignement et |’ architecture paysagiste se parta-
gent son temps. C’est avec joie qu’elle se dirige vers la pratique exclusive de la sculpture et
de la peinture artistique.

M« Charland a grandi en Ontario ou, depuis son enfance, elle témoigna d’une pas-

sion for drawing, painting and excursions in the forest. Following her studies in

Landscape Architecture in Toronto, Marie moved to Kelowna where she has worked
as a landscape designer for the last 8 years. In 1994, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in
Fine Arts at the Okanagan University College. Since then, Marie has gone through a period of
professional transition: studio production, exhibitions, artistic contract work, teaching, and
landscape design have shared her use of time. It is with joy that she is moving towards work-
ing exclusively as a sculptor and painter.
