SUBJECT: Lougheed Highway Median

Recommendations
That the present landscaping along the Lougheed Highway
Median remain intact.

Background & Comments:

1. Petition from businesses
The Parks & Recreation Committee reviewed a petition
received from various businesses along the Lougheed
Highway. They requested that we re-landacape the median by.
reducing the foliage or replacing the foliage to a height |
of three feet.

Historical background on Lougheed Highway

Over the years,. City Council has received. requests to
either reduce or eliminate the foliage on the median. The
last time Council dealt with this. matter was in 1990.
Please see attached repért.

It should be noted that $16,000 was put in the 1990
provisional budget to alter the "look" of the median.
However. City Council did not approve the expenditure..
