Eng., ae City Engineer Po SUBJECT: Barricading of Lane between York Place and Western Drive ; (Public Works Committee Meeting March 27, 1990) Recommendation: a That City Council reconsider the Recommendations forwarded by the Public Works Committee in its report dated January 18, 1990 (copy attached). Background and Comments: 7 When Council last dealt with this matter at the regular Council Meeting : held on January 22, 1990 local residents representing those for and against the | barricading of the lane presented their views to Council. Having heard the _ delegations, Council referred this matter back to the Public Works Committee ae for further consideration. re: Since the Council meeting of January 22, 1990 the Public Works Committee met with the local residents on two separate occasions; February 20th and March a 28th, 1990. A great deal of discussions and exchanges of thoughts on this re matter took place during these meetings. In the final analysis the Committee oo oo came to the conclusion that the recommendations previously forwarded to Council im are still valid. One suggestion (from a local resident) which will be a investigated further is the imposition of additional parking restrictions on oS the south side of Oughton Drive at the blind curves in the road.
