Tree removal and topping should be done with care to avoid damaging
adjacent trees and the residential gardens. Trees should be felled into
the forest area.

This treatment of the problem area should help to alleviate the windthrow
hazard, while avoiding wholesale removal of several more trees. Further

complete removals could result in a wind tunnel effect, with additional
forest edge windthrow occurring.

The windfirmness of those trees recommended to remain is not assured by
the consultant. Those trees identified for removal or topping are those
which, in the opinion of the consultant, pose the most immediate threat,
