THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM -2— parking is provided on the site, drivers will not wish to park on. Lancaster and walk around in order to get into the shopping center. In accordance with Council's earlier instructions, we have proceeded to install the No Parking signs on the west side of Lancaster and the Committee recommends that our traffic by-law be amended to include these signs. The Committee also recommends no parking on the east side of Lancaster from the intersection of Kitchener to 10 meters south. ITEM IIT Re: Parking on Wellington Street adjacent to PoCo Senior Secondary School A letter was received from Mr. McFarlane complaining about the restricted road width on Wellington Street in front of the PoCo Senior Secondary School because of angle parking on the east side of the street by night school students. There is normal parking on the west side of Wellington Street and the parking on the east side is not allowed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. The simplest solu- tion would be to extend the hours of the parking restriction to include evenings. However, it is apparent that the parking space along both sides of the street is very much required to accommodate the night school classes. The width of the shoulder on the east side is such that there is not room for angle parking without the vehicles projecting onto the pavement. Therefore, the Committee recommends that signs indicating parallel parking only be installed on the east side of Wellington Street ‘adjacent to the school. In order to not conflict with the present signs which indicate No Parking 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p-m., the parallel parking signs would have to indicate that the parallel parking applies only to the hours between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.. .
