March 24th,

Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Keryluk spoke
in favour of the Proposed building. Alderman Ranger asked for clarification
on items in the Proposed agreement and it was generally agreed that the
agreement was only a draft and would be refined. Members of the Kinsmen
organization were present and Alderman Mabbett asked Mr. L. Downie

regarding committments to community groups for space in the proposed

building and Mr. Downie advised there has been no committments made.

Council generally spoke in favour of the Proposed building and slderman
Wright wished the Kinsmen luck in their endeavour. Mayor Laking spoke
regarding the Kinsmen's financial status for the building and Mr. Downie
was able to answer his inquiries.

City Engineer, Mr. F.E, Peters, P. Eng., be authorized to attend the
Public Works Management Ceminar to be held in Denver Colorado from May
12th to 16th, 1980;

AND THAT his necessary expenses incurred therewith be paid by the
City.

Officers' Conference to be held in Victoria, B.C. on May 28th, 29th and

30th, 1980;

AND THAT all necessary expenses incurred therewith be paid by the

City.
