Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the report of the Finance Committee, June 27th, 1978 and July 4th, 1978, being Statements of Accounts Payable in the amount of $82,870.41 and $1,659,982.01, respectively, be approved. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Mabbett asked for clarification of the account payable to Skyline Sports and the Recreation Director advised she will circulate the information to Council. From Alderman P.F. Ranger, July 5th, 1978 recommending that no Ald. Ranger July 5/78 re burning permits be issued to anyone until Rezoning, Subdivision, and Ricard Subd. ~ Pooley & pertinent sections of By-law No. 1293 have been complied with. Ranger, July 5th, 1978 burning permits be issued to anyone until Rezoning, Subdivision, pertinent sections of By-law No. 1293 have been complied with. Carried. A short discussion then ensued. From the Public Works Committee, July 7th, 1978 advising of proposed PWC, July 7/78: re Intersectn. immediate changes to the intersection of Prairie and Coast Meridian and Prairie & Cst. Meridian of certain future changes requiring the removal of telephone and signal poles and of the long term solution which may require removal of the existing commercial building. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, July 7th, 1978 the immediate proposed changes as described in the Public Works Committee memorandum of July 7th, 1978, for the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Coast Meridian Road, be approved; AND THAT the B.C. Telephone Company be requested to relocate the telephone poles to allow the proposed future changes.to take place. Carried. Alderman Laking voted against the resolution.
