Contributed by Yolly Wilcox To faunch the Arthritis Society’s annual fundraising campaign, Terrace mayor Jack Talstra has officially declared September as Arthritis Month in Terrace, B.C., to encourage people to learn more about this painful and disabling illness and to understand the importance of funding arthritis research. Throughout September, we will be conducting an intensive: campaign. We want people to know that arthritis is Canada’s number one chronic disease affecting one in seven people. Sometimes, it hurts to be number one. Arthritis Society volunteers will canvass in the community during the month of September, raising the dollars so necessary for the continuation of research and public education programs. But research is costly. We appeal to the community to ‘help us find the ultimate answer: the cure and prevention of the disease. Help us relieve human suffering. When an Arthritis Society volunteer asks for your contribution, please give... to give hope. For further information, phone 635-7026 or 635-5024.
