The Public Works Committee also considered the alternative of reconstructing
Dominion Avenue to the City Engineering Standards for a permanent road based
on an estimated cost of over $200,000. As Dominion Avenue would have to be
raised to a higher elevation when the Riverwood Development proceeds (possibly
within two to three years), the Public Works Committee felt that it is not
necessary to reconstruct Dominion Avenue to a high standard at this time.
