December 18, 1989/264 Mr. Nateu, 3155 Marshall Road, Clearbrook, representative for Travel Lodge, Vancouver, made a statement that the Developer of the proposed hotel is using the Travel Lodge name even though they have not applied for a franchise, Mr. Sidu, Developer for the proposed hotel, has spoken to Mr. Ken Brown, Vice-President of Travel Lodge, Portland, and has been given preliminary approval, however application cannot be made until the property is actually owned by the Developer, which will not happen unless the property is rezoned. Alderman Keryluk would like to see in writing the approval of Mr. Ken Brown for the use of the Travel Lodge name prior to third reading. Mr. Brown, 1545 Lougheed Highway, Manager Best Western Hotel stated his objection to the proposed rezoning and assured council that the Best Western Hotel does net have a 75% occupancy rate. Mr. Kassan, 1485 Burnaby Drive, Burnaby, owner of the Best Western Hotel. objects to proposed rezoning as they are barely able to survive and do not have an occupancy rate of 75%. Mr. N. Libby, 1651 Angelo Avenue, asked that if the development proceeds is there any assurance that there will be no access from Angelo Avenue. Mayor Traboulay assured Mr, Libby there would be no access from Angelo Avenue. Bylaw No. 2470 to amend: Section 1003(2) of "Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1987, No. 2240" is amended by redesignating paragraph (e) as paragraph (f) and adding the following provision as paragraph (e): "(@) accessory offices for the foregoing uses, provided that such offices shall be located in the principal building and shall not exceed sixty percent of the gross floor area of that building." No one was present to speak at the Public Hearing. Bylaw No. 2471 to amend: Ll. Section 801(4) of "Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1987, No. 2240" is deleted and the following substituted: "(4) 4 front yard of not less than 7.5 metres (24.5 feet) shall be provided for any portion of a building exceeding a height of one storey or six metres, whichever is less, or exceeding a width of six metres (19.7 feet). A front yard of not less that 6 metres (19.7 feet) shall be provided for any portion of a building one storey in height and less than six metres in height and having a width of 6 metres (19.7 feet) or less.”
