The provincial stocking program is operated by Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, and they released 2,000 rainbow trout year- lings in June, 2004. Over the past decade, trout have been released every two years, and have included -fish from Tunkwa, Preniier and Badger stocks. The earli- est known stocking of Onion Lake was in 1960, when 1,000 rainbow trout fry were released.
