November lOth, 1975 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C., on November 10th, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., and Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Minutes - Nov. 3/75 Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on November 3rd, 1975, be taken as read and adopted, Carried, Mayor Campbell Mayor Campbell then reminded all those present that the Remembrance Day ~Remembrance Day-Nov.11/75 service would be commencing at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow rather than at 10:30 a.m. as has been the practice in previous years. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: From the City Clerk, November 7th, 1975, being a reminder that at the City Clerk re air-condition regular Council meeting of November 3rd, 1975, Alderman Ranger requested that ing -N/S Fire- a the question of whether or not the Northside Firehall should be air-conditioned be considered at the next Council meeting at which there was full attendance, and recalling that on November 3rd, 1975, the Contract for construction of the Firehall was awarded to Russ Reid Ltd. in the amount of $208,240.00, and that the Consultant has been advised that a possibility exists that the air-condi- tioning may be deleted. A discussion ensued, and the City Engineer stated he had been advised by the consultants that the saving in deleting the air-conditioning equipment would be approximately $1,000.00; however, this would be reduced to about $600.00 in redesigning the system. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the Consultant be advised that no possibility exists that the air- conditioning eystem for the proposed Northside Firehall may be deleted. Carried. Alderman Mabbett voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Mabbett stated he felt that the City should take advantage of the saving to be made in deleting the air-conditioning system from the Northside Firehall at this time; however, Alderman Laking commented that in his opinion, a saving of $600.00 did not warrant the air-conditioning System being deleted.
