Item No. 1 Service Awards — Multicultural Society The Committee discussed the lett"." from the Vancouver Multicultural Society of B.C. inviting nominations for Distinguished Service Awards. Landscape Approval Request — 2380 & 2390 Shaugbnessy St. Committee reviewed the proposed landscape plan. d That staff further research the proposal so as to answer tbt followix g questions: Who will maintain landscape on the encroachment? 1) Will the lane physically be removed? 2) Type of tree proposed for the boulevard? 3) 4) Are there alternatives to the gate at Elk Park? Dgrriieed Item No. 4 Parking Request — Round Dance Clinic The Committee discussed the report from the Recreation Manager/Deputy Director regarding the request received from to permit the 1992 Pacifir West Coast Round Dance Clinic Rec Centre. PoCo the at overnight recreational vehicles to park R.V 2/ SEP 10 1991 That the organizers of the 1992 Pacific West Coast Round Dancing Clinic be permitted to allow participants to park their recreational vehicles at the rort Coquitlam Recreation Centre, provided that the following conditions are met: 1) Tnat the number of r, reation vehicles allowed to park on site be limited to approximately ten (10). 2) That all recreation. vehicles parking on site must be self-contained and must not "empty" their holding tanks in the park or into the storm sewers. 3) 4) "Campers" will be responsible for picking up their own garbage and must keep the park area quiet between the hours of 11:00pm and 6:00am. This privilege of parking recreational vehicles at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre will be reviewed throughout the weekend. Carried Future Park Iand Committee discussed the memo received from the City Engineer regarding the proposal to identify future park land at Shaughnessy Street and Lobb Avenue . Carrzed Request for Teen Exchange Committee discussed the request for members of the PoCo Teens Leadership group to participate in an exchange with Mexico City's teen group. Recommendation That staff prepare a complete business plan regarding this proposal.
