Febru 15,1 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, February [5th, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson, and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Treasurer/Deputy Administrator J.G.S. Maitland, Director of Planning C.R. Felip, and Director of Parks & Recreation KJ. Taylor. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Councillor Talbot: Secon j i That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting held on February 8th, 1993 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PROCLAMATIONS: Whereas the cultural diversity of the people of British Columbia is reflected in the Province’s history; Whereas the multicultural communities’ strength and resolve contributes significantly to the social and economic well being of the Province; Whereas this heritage of music, dance, food, language, literature and history reflects the races, creeds and colours of the world and enrich British Columbia; And whereas the promotion of multicultural activities in the Province during Multicultural Week and at other times will enhance unity amidst diversity and strengthen the entire community, Now therefore I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of February 19th to 25th, 1993, as "MULTICULTURAL WEEK" Whereas it is deemed desirable to designate Heritage Week as a time set aside for citizens to give recognition and pay special tribute to the cultural heritage of Port Coquitlam in which they can take pride; And whereas it is believed that all residents of Port Coquitlam would wish to celebrate our heritage by observing such a week in a manner which would enhance our appreciation of our cultural heritage by dedicating ourselves to the preservation of those sites, landscapes, buildings and artifacts that provide so much for the enjoyment of present and future generations;
