RECOMMENDATION: That Council consider the facts and discussions contained in this report: and select the successful tenderer for the reconstruction of Broadway. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Tenders for the reconstruction of Broadway were opened publicly on August I8, 1982. Seven bonafide tenders were submitted including one from the City's own forces. The results of the tender opening are summarized in the table attached. A detailed tender analysis has been completed and we wish to report the facts as follows: lL. ‘Jack Céwe Ltd.'s tender in the amount of $465,117.50 is the lowest tender which conforms in every respect to the terms of the tender document. The average tender price excluding the City's submission is $559,520.07 The City's tender in the amount of $550,160.41 is the fifth lowest tender. This tender is $85,042.91 higher than Jack Cewe Ltd.'s. The City's unit prices tendered are generally very competitive when compared to those submitted by the lowest tenderer, Jack Cewe Ltd.
