These workshops grew out of a need expressed by many of those people who participated in the Preschool Leadership Workshop held last 7 January. The sessions . being offered now are only a sample of the topics suggested. . The first in the series is - to be held Thursday, -- April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Library. Gillian Campbell, chil- dren’s Librarian, will provide an introduction to some of the best pic- ture books published over the last 50 years and will include a discussion on the benefits and pleasures of reading to children. ‘On Tuesday, April 15 at 10:15 a.m. a session on using a playground creatively will give parents and preschoolers more ideas on how to get ‘the most out of the | playground and the equipment. On Thursday, May 22 at Home Crafts for three to five olds, instructors will teach parents how to make such things as play dough and glue as well as give many ideas for pro- jects little ones can make at home with items found around the house. _ This session will start at 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is for parents only. Finally, on Monday, June 2 at 1:15 p.m. a ses- sion on water activities and safety for parents and preschoolers will be held. This will include a talk for parents on water safety at the beach or the pool and an activity ses- sion in the pool that will give parents ideas on in- troducing their pre- schooler to the water, games and more. Each individual ses- sion has a registration fee of $2.00 per family. Registration is being held at the Terrace Parks and Recreation office in the Terrace Arena. Pre regis- tration is required.
