Item #1 Picnic Tables

Purpose: The concrete tables will be primarily located in Lions Park
and Park Site No 2 in the Genstar subdivision.

Rationale for Purchase:
The Parks & Recreation department is replacing the wooden
picnic tables with the more durable concrete tables. The
cost for one is $300.

Item #2

Purpose: The various facilities utilize tables and chairs for
recreation programa, social events, and meetings etc.

Rationale for Purchase:
Each year there is a need to replace the worn out chairs
and tables in our various facilities. The wear and tear on
this equipment is high and therefore it is essential that
each year we replace with new equipment.

Item #3 Skate Sharpener

Purpose: The skate sharpener is used to sharpen the rental skates
the Poco Recreation Centre.

Rationale for Purchase:
The present skate sharpener is no longer operatable. If
do not replace the skate sharpener we will not have the
capability to sharpen the rental skates. &

Item #4 Pressure Washer

Purpose: This piece of equipment is used to clean all the outdoor
awimming pools, the walls of various recreation buildings
i.e. Hyde Creek, PoCo Rec Centre, and washroom facilities
in the parks etc.

Rationale for Purchase:
Presently we rent this equipment each year at a cost of up
to $1,500. We only do a limited amount of projects due to
the fact we have to rent the equipment. With the purchase
of a pressure washer we would be able to set up a more
vigorous schedule of maintenance.

There are sufficient funds in the
Parks & Recreation Capital Budget
