A regular meeting of the Municipal Counct| of The Corporation
of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Counci| Chamber,
Port Coquittam City Halli on Monday, October 17th, 1983 at 7:39

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen JoJe Keryluk, G.R,
Laking, E.W. Mabbett, D.J. Vater and MLR, Wright in attendance,

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City
Clerk R.A, Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P, Eng., Chief
Building Inspector N. Chernoff, Director of Commun ity Planning W.
Brown, and Parks & Recreation Director K.J. Taylor.

That the minutes of the Regular Counci| Meeting held on
October 3rd, 1983 and the Special Counc! Meeting held on October
4th, 1983, be taken as read and adopted.

His Worship Mayor L.M, Traboulay presented his proclamation
Stating that October 17+h to October 2ist, 1983 be "Boys and Girls

Club Week" in the City of Port Coquitlam. A representative from
the Boys' and Girls! Clubs received the Proclamation from Mayor

L.M. Traboulay.

His Worship Mayor L.M, Traboulay introduced Mrs. D. Saxton who
then made a Presentation to Counci| regarding saving Sunny Park
School,

Seconded by Alderman Mabbett:

That a letter be written to Schoo! District No. 43 outlining
the City's strong concern and support for the views expressed this

evening by Mrs. D. Saxton respecting the proposed closure of Sunny
Park Schoo! and that School District No. 43 be requested to keep
the Sunny Park Schoo! open.
