LTEM 1 - 1980 and 1981 British Columbia Winter Games
1980 British Columbia Summer Games

~ please see the attached letter.

The City of Port Coquitlam has been invited to bid for
the hosting of the above games.

RECOMMENDATION
The Leisure Activities Committee feels that at this time,

we do not submit a bid to hpst these particular games. However, perhaps
in the future, it may be beneficial to have the three communities,
(Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam), put in a joint bid to host

either the winter or summer games.

ITEM 2 - MAY DAY

The Committee discussed the question of the 1979 May Day.
It was felt that it should be handled in a similar manner as last year;
first that a general public meeting be held to see if people are still
interested in May Day and furthermore, that if they are; that a May Day
Committee be struck and to functicn in a similar manner as this past years

committee.

RECOMMENDATION

1. That a General Public Meeting be called for Monday, October 30, 1978

at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
2. That the meeting be advertised through the local newspapers.

3. That the 1978 May Day Committee be informed of the meeting.
