House and contents damage totalling approximately $60,000 was to a Port Coquitlam fire fighter's house caused by an exterior electrical light circuit. There was no one home at the time and the fire had completely engulfed the house before arrival of fire department. $500 damages to a bedroom caused by a person smoking in bed. Approximately $300 damage to a dryer and basement area caused by a fire in the electrical part of the dryer. Alarms set off in schools by persons unknown and a child unknown, by pulling the alarms in an apartment. Still getting a number of nuisance calls to bush and garbage fires. 30 Inhaiator calls. 17 Home emergencies consisting of heart problems, strokes, asthmatic attacks, breathing problems and a lady kicked by a horse, a lady having a possible miscarriage, a man found unconscious, a man fell injuring his knee and a baby fell from a balcony. Attended six individual accidents occurring at different schools, four motor vehicle accidents and two overdoses. We received a used econoline type ambulance from the E.H.S. to replace our rescue vehicle. The rescue vehicle was equipped as a back up inhalator and we stationed it at No. 2 Hall when it was manned until the government could spare us a proper ambulance.
