THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAIA srt FEB 14 1977 TO: Mayor and Council February 9th, 1977 FROM: Building & Protection Committee - Street Naming Report from the Building «& Protection Committee Meeting held February 9th, 1977 at 7:00 a.m. IN ATTENDANCE: Alderman M.A. Thompson, Chairman Alderman E.W. Mabbett, Deputy Chairman V.G. Borch, P. Eng. Renaming of Chester Street to Shaughnessy Street It can be anticipated that this spring the highway improvements at the Lougheed - Shaughnessy Intersection will be completed to the point where traffic will be making the eastbound left turn up to what is presently Chester Street instead of to Coquitlam Avenue as is presently the case. Because the intersection alignment is such that Shaughnessy Street will continue unbroken from south to north it is recommended by the Committee that Chester Street be renamed in its entirety to Shaughnessy Street. It is further recom mended that this change be made effective April lst, 1977 but that all affected persons be advised as soon as possible so that they have sufficient time to make arrangements for the change. Respectfully submitted, V.G. Borch,/P. Eng., City Enginger. a IER Tae ek yn tm ee cate
