Diet is certainly important in the pre- vention of heart disease, but, con- trary \o popular belief, it isn’t the most important thing you can do. Tn 1989, when the B.C, Heart Health survey was released, the biggest contributor to heart dis- ease was... too much alcohol. Anylime you take more than about one drink per day, you’re adding to your risk of heart dis- ease. (And no saving up for the weekend, cither.) Risk factor number two?? Smoking!!
