A. E. Falconer, the transfer
man. was a business visitor to
Smithers the latter part of last
week,

Mrs. Greig, of Terrace, was a
visitor at The Hazelton Hospital
over the week-end. She was
accompanied by Mrs. (Dr. ) Bleec-
ker, who visited with friends
here.

Miss Horbury left on Monday
morning for Vaneouver, where
she will spend the next month
or so to recuperate after her
long illness,

C. W. Dawson was in Prince
Rupert the first of the week and
bought a good bunch of furs.

The town was visited by a
large number of travellers during
ae week.

Gatt went up to Smithers
Tucnias morning to have a look
around,

The ladies in charge of selling
programs for the hig show to-
night in Assembly hallin aid of
the Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary,
have met with great success and
there is sure to be a big crowd
present, »

The road gang is beginning to
make quite an improyement on
the road between the two towns,

The funeral of the late J. R.
Petrie, father of Dr. J. A. Petrie,
of The Hospital medical staff,
was held in Vancouver on April
6th and the remains were sent to
the old home at Paisley, Ont.,
for interment:

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Urant anr-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Jean Christina, to Mr.
Norman Herbert Kilpatrick, Smi-
thers, B.C., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Allan Kilpatrick, formerly — of
Smithers, The marriage will take
place in Smithers on April 28th,
1928.

' Miss Jessie Wattie was a guest
of the Misses Allen at Hanall the
past week or so and on Monday
went on to Prince Rupert with
Miss Kathleen Allen.

Miss Hanna spent the Easter
holidays with her sister, Mrs. H.
Welch, in Smithers.

District Inspector of Provincial

Police Parsons, of Prince George,
was a visitor here the middle of
week,
-J. D. Galloway went east to
Smithers on Thursday morning,
to see J, F. Duthie of the Mamie
and Henderson mine, in connec-
tion with the road from the town
to the mine,

Miss Doodson, of Smithers, has
been a guest this week of Mrs,
J. GC. XK. Sealy.

A. 8. Gray, of Cedarvale, the
Skeena River apple king, .was in
town this week, booking orderg
for his small fruit crop.

- The Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary
met at the home of Mrs, Walton
