Reds slump centinue by Dave Hamilton ‘The Terrace Reds has had their losing streak extended to slx games, coutesy of the Hazelton Braves, as they dro a double-header on Sunday. The Braves ‘defeated the Reds by scores . of 31 and 11-7. The first game featured a pitchers duel between Reds’ rookie Jim Kellar and Hazelton’s Brian Dubasov, an ex-Red and veteran of the pitching game. Dubasov allowed only two hits and held the Reds scoreless until the bottom of the seventh when Dave Hamilton singled, took third’ on an error, and scored on a throw to second. Dubasov recorded nine strikeouts on his way to victory: Hazelton took an early 1-0 lead as they scored in the top of the first inning.. Ray Sturney walked, stole _ Becond, then scored on Bob Wilson's single. The Braves took a 2-0 lead in the third as Wilson singled and Morgan and Smith walked to load the bases; then Wilson scored on a paas ball. The visitors last run came an inning later with walks hurting the Reds again. Al Francis and Ray Sturney received walks before Glen Brennan hit an Kellar allowed only four hits but walked eight batters and struck out ten on route to his loss, The second game was a wild affair with, Hazelton winning it in the top of the seventh as before then it appeared that the hometown boys would pick up their first victory, ; The Reds began the scoring in the first: inning when Bob Sheridan singled, stole second then scored on Hamilton's single to left.
