Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Wright gave an outline of the background of the requirement for the new fire truck and specified the safety features included in the 85—foot Aerial Platform. BY-LAWS: Alderman Laking stated in his opinion the initial payment of $22,000.00 for the purchase of the fire truck should come out of the 1978 budget with the remainder to be included in the 1979 Provisional Budget. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the initial payment of $22,000.00 for the purchase of a new fire truck as described by the Building and Protection Committee in their report under date of December 15th, 1978 be taken out of the surplus from the 1978 Provisional Budget. Carried. REPORTS: From the Finance Committee, December 12th, 1978 being Statements of Accounts Payable in the amount of $529,361.29. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the report of the Finance Committee, December 12th, 1978 being Statements of Accounts Payable in the amount of $529,361.29, be approved. Carried. Comm. Dev. Comm. , From the Community Development Committee, December 14th, 1978 advising of a meeting held on December 12th, 1978 with a representative of B.C. Business Magazine who informed the Committee thai this publication will be doing a feature article on Port Coquitlam in their February issue and asking the City to purchase an advertisement in this issue. The Committee recommends that the City participate in this advertising and would like authorization to spend up to a maximum of $1,500.00 to advertise in this issue. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That as recommended by the Community Development Committee, December 14th, 1978 the City place an advertisement in the February {issue of the B.C. Business Magazine; AND THAT the Committee be authorized to spend up to a maximum of $1,500.00 for the advertisement.
