SUBJECT: Wheelchair Ramp at Lions Way Crosswalk - Public Works
Committee - August 19, 1986

Recommendation:

That a wheelchair ramp be installed. in the sidewalk.on
Shaughnessy Street at Lions Way and the approximate cost of $300.00 be
taken from the Unallocated Funds in the Public Works Budget.

Background and Comments:

Hand I capped. persons using the sidewalk. on the east side. of
Shaughnessy. Street between the south side and north side are not able
-to use the crosswalk at Lions. Way because there is no wheelchair
fetdown. The City has always been sympathetic to requests from. the
handicapped for access to facittities and have Installed wheelchair
letdowns at intersections al! along Shaughnessy Street. Because this
-Is not .at an. intersection [It has been neglected in the past but should
be completed as soon as possible. mo,
