WHEREAS under ana by virtue of Section 267 of the "Municipal Act" belng Chapter 290 of the Revised Statutes of British Cotumbla, 1979, the Counc! | may by bylaw provide for paying out of the annua; ravenue an Indemnity to the Mayer ana Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam, and may provide that a portion of the sala Indemnity to be pald to tha Mayor and Aidermen shall be pala as an allowance tor expenses Incidental to the discnarge of tne auties of thelr respective offices; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Counc!! of The Corporation of the City of Pert Coquitlam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Durlag the period extending from the First Monday after the First day of December, 1984 to the First Monday after the First day of December, 1985, There shall be pala to the Mayor of Tne Corporation of the Clty of Port Coquitlam an Ingemnity of $27,996.00 per annum of whiten salad Indemnity the sum of $9,332.00 shall be paid as an allowance for expenses Incidental to the alscharge of the duties of nis oftice. 2. During The perloo extending from the First Monday after the First day of December, 1984 to the First Monday after the First day of December, 1985, There shall be pala to each of the Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam an Indemnity of $8,565.00 per annum of which sald Indemnity the sum of $2,855.00 shall be pald as an allowance for expenses incidental to the oischarge of the auties of the office of Alderman, 3, The Indemnity previded tor In Sections 1 and 2 hereof shal! be pald by the City Treasurer in twelve equal monthly Installments during the months of December, 1984 Through November 1985, Inciusive, to the person or persons entitied to racelve tne same without further order or resolution of the Councl! save ana except as provided In Section 5 of This Bylaw, 4, After the expiry of the time specified tn Sections | and 2 hereof the Treasurer shai! continue to pay the same equal manthly Installments to the person or persons entitied to recelve the same as was baling pald under the authority of Sections 1 and 2 hereof until! the Counc! | Shall otherwise pravidag; and, upon such pravistion belng made the amount or amounts pald shall be adjusted accordingly. De In the evant any member of Council! fs absent tor more than three consecutive regular Council! meetings the Indemnity that would otherwise be due that member shall not be pald to that member. The provisions of this Section may be waived by unanimous vote of the ramalning members af Councl!. 6.
