BYLAW NO. 1995

A Bylaw to authorize the submission of. a
question concerning disarmament,

‘The Municipal Coune}| of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, -in open
meeting assembled enacts as follows: ‘

The opinion of the electors of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam upon
the question: :

"DO YOU SUPPORT THE GOAL OF GENERAL DISARMAMENT AND ENCOURAGE YOUR FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT Ty CONTINUE iTS EFFORTS To NEGOTIATE AND IMPLEMENT, WITH OTHER
GOVERNMENTS, A PROGRESSIVE MUTUAL REDUCTION IN THE WORLD'S STOCKPILE OF
NUCLEAR AND OTHER WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, SUBJECT TO EFFECTIVE
VERIFICATION, AND IMPLEMENTED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO SUSTAIN A STABLE BALANCE
BETWEEN THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD?" er :

shail be obtained at. the. time of the general municipal election in the year 1983,

The time and place of voting upon such question shal} be the same as those
established for-the general municipal selection in the year “1983 and: the Returning
Officer, Deputy Returning Officers, and Poll Clerks appointed. for such genera|
municipal election. shal! exercise such powers and perform such. duties as. may be
necessary for the conduct of voting upon: the question herein set forth.

This Bylaw may be cited for al} purposes as the "Oisarmament Referendum Bylaw,
