Prior to the question being called on the Alderman Traboulay commented that the District started to hold its Council meetings every two July and one in August attendance to carry on abovestated motion, of Coquitlam has recently weeks while the City is now concerned about the summer months schedule, and he suggested that the matter be tabled until around Easter. Alderman Keryluk stated it was his understanding that the new meeting schedule recently started in the District of Coquitlam is on a trial basis only at the present time; however, Mayor Campbell concurred with the suggestion of Alderman Traboulay to leave the matter in abeyance until Easter and Alderman Laking, mover of the motion, agreed. Alderman Ranger referred to a letter sent by the City to the Library Development Commission stating concern at Richmond opting out of the Fraser Valley Library Board system and mentioned that the reply from one Ald. Ranger re legislation : to regional- . ize library service,etc, of the Directors advising that the consultant for the LDC has been instructed to follow the guidelines of the Library Commission's programme for library development set forth in a 1973 report that calls for library service being regionalized throughout British Columbia. Alderman Ranger stated he did not recall since the 1973 report came out any legislation in setting up this sort of structure, and suggested that the matter be investigated to determine whether or not any such legislation was passed and what the debate was as to the value thereof. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That if possible, information be brought forward on whether any legislation came out of the 1973 report to the Library Development Comission on setting up regionalized library service throughout British Co.umbia, and if such legislation was passed, what the debate was as to the value thereof, Alderman Keryluk advised he was instructed by Council to request that the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board remove all its books from Carried.
