June 9th, 1975 suggested guidelines for informal information meetings that were submitted with the report of the Housing Committee now under consideration, and he propesed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Mabbett: That the guidelines for citizen participation in: A ~ major plan amendments B - major policy changes (e.g. Housing styles) C - major rezonings as recommended in a report from the Housing Committee, May 22nd, 1975, be adopted. Lost for want of a seconder.. Members of Council then generally agreed to discuss the guidelines submitted with the report and the following motion was proposed: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the "Suggested Guidelines for Informal Information Meetings" as submitted with a report from the Housing Committee, May 22nd, i975 with respect to citizen participation in areas of major plan amendments, policy changes, and rezonings, be adopted. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued and Alderman Keryluk inquired whether the proposed information meetings would be in lieu of or prior to Public Hearings and Alderman Laking advised that the meetings would be held prior to Public Hearings. Alderman Keryluk stated he would like to see members of Council included in items Nos. 3 and 6 of the proposed guidelines; however, Acting-Mayor Alderman Traboulay pointed out that with respect to item 3, the developer would be discussing his proposal with plans, drawings, etc., with the Council and therefore it would be redundant to amend that item. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by .iderman Ranger: That item No. 6 of the "Suggested Guidelines for Informal Information Meetings" as submitted with a report from the Housing Committee, May 22nd, 1975, be amended by inserting the words "Members of Council" before the words "School trustees," where they appear at the beginnin & & thereof.
