“THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM COU MAR {G33 MAYOR AND COUNCIL DATE: MARCH 5, 1975 _ PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE Re: R#21/74, West of Cedar Drive - R#24/74, Prairie/Regina The above are two of the several applications for rezoning RS~2 lands to RS-1, These applications were received by the Planning Dept. after the adoption by Council the policy of no further rezoning of RS-2 lands. Consequently, these applications had not been: deait with by the Planning and Zoning Committee until February 27, 1974 when the Committee was reviewing the overall policy. The Committee recommends that these two rezoning applications be approved, the reasonsbeing that: 1. The lands in question are adjoining RS-1 areas. 2. Servicing in both cases is not difficult. 3. Shortage of building lots is being experienced in the East Sector. 4. In respect to R#24/74, rezoning is considered to be highly desirable as subdivision of the land will facilitate the opening of Regina to Prairie which will improve access and services to the new Recreation Centre.
