INTER OFFICE MEMO DATE: OctoberghSt 19/2 “CeCe Re: Firearm Regulations By-law ‘Mayor and Aldermen Circulated with the Council agenda this week was By-law No. 1206 which was an “a amendment for the above-noted By-law. | The amendment proposed by By~law No. 1206 would give effect to the request from “the Port Coquitlan & District Hunting & Fishing Club as contained in their letter of _ September 3rd, 1972. However, late Friday afternoon (October 13th) Mr. W.J. Otway came : - o os to my office and stated that he had omitted to include in his letter as an area where | wale hunting would. be permitted that section of the Pitt River dyke lying between Prairie he : Avenue ‘and Lincoln Avenue. He suggested that it would be appropriate to include this s section of dyke since the dyke was open for shooting frem the Lougheed Highway North to . Ri Prairie Avenue and again North from Lincoln Avenue. Accordingly, if the Council are in agreement with Mr. Otway's latest thinking, might we suggest that the following phrase be included in the new clause (a) of section 5 proposed for the By-law as the final paragraph thereof after the paragraph that ends “with the words "the point of origin": “and including the dyke area on the West bank of the Pitt River from Prairie ab. Avenue North to Lincoln Avenue extending from the westernmost limit of the dyke to the eastern boundary of the City." 7) SaaS Bathe City Clerk /ba “ fiavetr ees
