anglais. Grande gagnante du Chant‘Ouest 2015 présenté a Winnipeg, Rayannah partage avec son auditoire une expérience authentique partout ou elle sest produite, que ce soit au Canada, en Europe ou aux Etats-Unis. Originally from the small Francophone town of Saint Denis, Saskatchewan, Mario Lepage made his mark as a composer and multi-instrumentalist, collaborating with remarkable artists in his province, including Shawn Jobin, who performed in the opening night of the Festival dété in 2013. In 2015, indie post-punk guitarist Adam Logan and the prodigious drummer Kyle Grimsrud-Manz joined Mario Lepage in the musical project they called Ponteix. Following on their huge success in Saskatchewan, the trio gained popularity in the rest of Canada. This year, their hypermodern pop resonated right up to the semi-finales in the 2016 Francouvertes competition, and in June this year they will also participate in the program of the very prestigious Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac. With a mind-blowing voice and a howling bass that is enough to make the stage boards creak, Ponteix shatters musical conventions along with language barriers, creating a space for the most powerful element in music... emotion. Franco-Manitoban musician Rayannah blends acoustic and electronic sound, combining beat box and synthesizer with her very unusual vocal quality and lyrics. The soundscapes that come out of this process are sometimes delicate and sparse, at other times dense and complex. In May 2015, she launched her first album “Boxcar Lullabies” with her highly personal lyrics delivered in French and in English. The grand prizewinner at the 2015 Chant’Ouest in Winnipeg, Rayannah shares an authentic experience with her audience wherever she performs, in Canada, Europe or the United States.
