ili ii Following the recommendations of the report from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, and to honour the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Le Centre has taken concrete measures over the past years to ensure its programming reserves a place where the voices of contemporary Indigenous Francophone musicians and singers are heard. In recent years, Le Centre has presented Pascale Goodrich-Black, Marijosée and Willows at the Festival dété, and at the celebrations organised as part of the 150th anniversary of Canada, Le Centre presented Florent Vollant, Shauit and Gérald Laroche. In this way, Le Centre aims to make a concrete contribution to creating a channel for Indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians to build respectful relationships that promote the decolonisation of our own often unconscious behaviour, and to give to Indigenous artists and nations the recognition and visibility that they deserve. In this spirit, we are very pleased to present, on Thursday June 21, on the occasion of National Indigenous People’s Day, a young emerging artist from the Huron-Wendat nation, Eadsé, who will open the first part of Briga's and The Absinthe Ensemble 's concert.
