mite Teahy Oa eee Ee, February 18, 1991/033 A Public Hearing pursuant to Division 5 Licenced Premises of the Development Approval Procedures Bylaw, 1987, No. 2243 was held prior to the Council meeting of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, February 18th, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, Director of Pianning C.R. Felip, Director of Building Permits and Inspections J. Shardlow, Fire Chief J. Baillie and Fire Prevention Officer D. Madden. LICENCED PREMISES PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaws would now be considered: An Application to permit: Parcel "A" District Lot 480 Group One Plan 71034 New Westminster District to obtain a Hotel "A" License. The property is located at 1651 Lougheed Highway and would permit a 65 seat lounge and a beer and wine store, complementary to a proposed hotel. A letter was received from Mr. and Mrs. Haywood, 1691 Angelo Avenue opposing the proposed Hotei "A" License because of parking problems in the area as well as an increase in noise. It was also noted that a pub application has already been turned down in the area. The following people spoke regarding the proposed Hotel "A" License. fr. J. Wilchuk, General Manager, Frisco's Ventures Inc., 2089 Lougheed Highway spoke in opposition to the proposed License and read a statement outlining the reasons for his opposit.on | Mr. R. Lonon, 1673 Angelo Avenue spoke in opposition to the proposed License and referred to traffic and parking problems in the area. Mr. K. Thomas, 750 Kingsway supports the License application as additional accommodation in needed in Port Coquitlam. ‘Mr. W. Booth, 2806 St. Michael is opposed to the License application as traffic and litter in the area are a problem.
