THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM B.R. Kirk DATE: March 2, 1988 ity Aministrator we Brown Director of Community Planning Z111 Nova Scotia & 1244 Pitt River Road Development Variance Permit (File No. 20/88) RECOMMENDATION: That City Council direct s Office to notify surrounding property owners of ication and place the application on a subsequent Council agenda And that City Council adopt a resolution issuing a Development Variance Permit exempting Lots 12 and 16, D.L. 232, Grp. |, NWLD, Plan 73976 from the requirements of Bylaw 2242 Section 403 and Section 404, regulating road width requirements. COMMENTS: This Development Variance Permit application has been submitted to relax the requirement for 4a cul-de~sac bulb. The application is supported, because there are existing houses suld have to be removed. . This area is the only part of the South Pitt River Road neighbourhood that, the development control plan was not able to successfully resolve. The situation is there are several older houses which preclude either extending Nova Scotia through or creating a cul-de-sac. Due to this problem, the approach recommended is to wait until one of the houses is removed and then extend Nova Scotia. Following this approach requires that the requirement for constructing a cul-de-sac be waived. We / kk | FILE: 0004-95(12)
