NOW THEREFORE I,

in the course of creating the wealth and
life that British Columbians enjoy today,
have lost their lives and suffered serious

quality of
many workers
injury; and

British Columbians recognize that we must
work to reduce the risk of injury,
that arises from employment; and

continue to
disease and death

the recognition of past loss of life and limb from
occupational injury and disease will remind all British
Columbians of the need to te~dedicate ourselves to the

creation of healthter and safer working environments;
and

our Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advise and

consent of the Executive Council, has been pleased to
direct by Order in Council in that behalf that a
Proclamation be issued designating Friday, April 28,
1989, as “Day of Mourniug” for workers killed or
injurea on the job in British Columbia;

Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the

City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM, Friday,
April 28th, 1989 as

"DAY OF MOURNING”
