Ranger, November 29th, 1976, commenting on the ‘traffic congestion ‘problen fact that traffic congestion in this part of the Lower Fraser Valley has reached the crisis stage, and suggesting that the municipalities involved collectively endeavour to convince the Provincial Government that a new arterial route is essential and. should therefore be given the highest cf priority. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That Port Coquitlam invite representatives from the following bodies to a meeting for the purpose of discussing ways and means of focusing attention on the necessity of providing a new arterial class highway between New Westminster and Maple Ridge, namely, the six municipalicies of New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, ORE i and Mission, their respective Regional Districts, Chambers of Commerce, Ratepayers Associations, Advisory Planning Board ‘Chairmen, the Minister of Highways, the three M.L.As., and the Senior. C.P.R. Traffic Co-ordinator Officers. Carried. A walkway be required from the North end of Norfolk to the proposed Nu-West collector road, wide enough to accommodate emergency vehicles. 2.
