To whom it may concern:

I am writing the letter in support of the Novo Library project scheduled to be housed at the
Vancouver Public Library in the fall of 2005.
I'm working as a consultant on this project. Once the questionnaire is finalized which asks for
recommendations on books that should be included in the Nova library, I've committed to
getting it to all the A&D counsellors in the VCH system. Clients are not required to put any
personal info in this questionnaire or identify themselves. It will be strictly voluntary and
confidential. The information that needs to be collected for this installation art project is the
reading preferences of the subjects polled.
I'm excited about this project as I hope it will be one more tool to debunk stereotyping of
addicts and continue to reinforce the fact that heroin addiction crosses all socio-economic and
educational boundaries. Besides I'm also personally very curious to see what the actual
contents of a library recommended by junkies & ex junkies will look like.
