and stimulating slides of contemporary potiers, including many pots by
Wayne Nyan and other students at the Vancouver School of Art.

We received formal permission from the Vancouver Art Scheal to hoid
meetings in their auditorium, free oi charge,

An announcement of the British Craftemen's Show was received,
entries to be in Toronto by January 25, 1965,

Glenn Lewis, pottery instructor with the College of Education at U. B.C, ,
gave a talk on his apprenticeship at the Leach Pottery al St, Ives,
Eneland, aecompanied by slides of Leach pots, other pottery workshops,
and construction of was kilns,

EXECUTIVE MEETINGS

The first executive maint covered the setling up of the Oakvidge show
at which we were invited by the F.C, A. Although the venture was a
heavy burden, ft was a oe sucegss thanks te Erik Marsden and fis
organizing committee,

Since the news letter from the Federation of Canadian Artists which
inclivled our news letter, has net been published lately, the critica!
importance for our Guild to come out with its cwn publication and keep
the membership infermed wae stressed at length. Further improve-
ments were suggested as te content and will be tried ont, A nete of
thanks will be sent the FCA for having assisted us in the past.

Other fopies discussed incladed the pertinence of our aifilitation with
other wrougs, Our affiliations are: The Canadian Potters Guild, The
American Crattsman Council, The World Craftgsmans Council, The
Federation of Canadian Artists and The Comimunily Arts Council,

The number of entries and entrants for the 165 show were down from

previous years, perhapa in part due te the weather condifiens pre-

vailing in December, Upon cursory examination of the entries, a
