— in fact it Was a very yood deal.

that | learned that the crown -proseculor had lvunched an
appeal af this sentence, which was three years and cight
years probation from driving. ;

. [was overwhelmed: by the response of British Colum-
bians everywhere whom [ asked to write the Attorney Gen-
eral and express their opinion.

I believe that we as.a public can influence the appeal
“court aad the handling of future cases by letting the judi-

cial system know what it is we hold sacred and valuable
and what message we want given to drunk drivers.

We want to know why the majority sharcholding part-
fiers insisted the'deal be held in the Caymans,’

We want fa know if the Liberal sleaze went over the tops
of Gordo’s shocs and soaked his socks. Does anyone know

Message needs to be sent

It is not good cnough to sit back and criticize the defense
lawycrs, the prosecutors, the judges, the ‘‘system’’, as if it
has nothing to do with us.

Our judicial system represents us as a society and I think
they are wanting us to tli them how we feel; to give them
permission to. use the authority and power we have in-
vested in them. Change is possible aud we will get the jus-
lice we deserve if we want to make the effort.

1 want 4 strong message given to drunk drivers that we
will not tolerate this blatant disregard for olhers and that
there will be-seridus consequences if you choose to ignore
the rules.
