Local RCMP said on Thursday, May 8, a single vehicle logging truck accident occurred on Highway 16 at the Sande Overpass. Police said the logging truck was attemping to negotiate a right hand corner, when the truck flipped over onto its left side, spilling its load onto the highway. The logs rolled across the road, then over an adja- cent sidewalk, striking a female pedestrian. The woman was rushed to Mills Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The 40 year old driver of the logging truck was not injured in the accident. The name of the deceased is being withheld pend- ing notification of next-of-kin. The RCMP said the accident is still under in- vestigation by Terrace Highway Patrol.
