THEIR. FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS! The elections did little to solve the crucial problems facing Canada today. For though the campaigning is over (for a while, at least) the issues of an independent Canada and her role in the world struggle for peace remain unchanged. Will our country accept nuclear wea- pons? Is U.S. domination of our economic, political, military and cultural life going to be halted or will it be allowed to continue on? : While the answers to these burning questions are not readily available, one thing is certain: the demands upon and need for the Pacific Tribune have — if any- thing — increased! That is why we must not fail. That is why our 1963 Press Drive must go over the top. And that is why every reader, press builder and press club must decide im- mediately that the overall objective of $18,000 will be reached in record time. The press committee has decided to devote the period from April 15 to June 15 to raise the above figure, which is exactly the same as last year’s Press Drive object- ive. While $18,000 is a lot of money, we have succeeded in raising it in the past and we can succeed again — provided we get cracking on it immediately! In the adjoining columns at the right, you will see published a list of the press clubs all over the province, along with each club’s quota. Clubs should be plan- ning banquets, concerts, social evenings, etc. to go well over the proposed toe Any club requiring help should contac the PT office without delay. The fight for Canada has entered a new stage. Let’s ensure that we play our tightful role in that fight! All as one — OVER THE TOP! urvival fight goes on.. Basic issues remain unchanged! THAT IS WHY WE NEED $18,000 (by June 15) Here’s what YOU can do.. @ PLEDGE to do your part! e DONATE your share now! © ASK others to give too! ‘ Press Drive Quotas GREATER VANCOUVER Club.
