COAST MERIDIAN BARGE LOADING FACILITY
(Public Works Committee Meeting of January 5, 1993)

RECOMMENDATION:
That Council authorize the following requirements for users of the Coast Meridian Barge
Loading Facility:

1) $150 per day user fee

2) A refundable Highway Use Bond of $5,000 for security to ensure that any damage is
repaired.

3) A provision of $5 million dollars comprehensive public liability and property damage
insurance.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

At present, users of the Coast Meridian Barge Loading Facility are only required to submit a
refundable Highway Use Bond of $5,000 in order to use this City facility.

As described in the attached memo to the Public Works Committee from the City Engineer

dated December 24, 1992 it is recommended that users of the barge loading ramp also pay a
$150 per day user fee plus provide proof of $5 million dollars of iiability insurance.
